Amy Schumer Sells Moonstruck Town House for $11 Million

The actor took a $1.25 million loss on the 19th-century Brooklyn abode amid her split with Chris Fischer

Amy Schumer is bidding farewell to Brooklyn—and a beloved New York landmark. The actor and comedian sold her Brooklyn Heights town house for $11 million, The Real Deal reports. Schumer initially purchased the Federal-style residence, built in 1829 and later immortalized in the 1987 rom-com Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicolas Cage, in 2022 for $12.25 million. The Kinda Pregnant star listed the property in March for $14 million. Months later, she relisted the Brooklyn townhouse and trimmed the asking price down to nearly $12.8 million. Now, the property is under contract to be sold for $11 million—a $1.25 million loss from what the multihyphenate and her husband, Chris Fischer, paid three years ago.

Schumer’s historic Moonstruck dwelling features five bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. The famed 5,600-square-foot town house maintains its 19th-century allure; what remains intact from the 1800s is the original brick exterior, exposed beam ceilings, crown moldings, vintage wood cabinetry, and a fireplace with grand marble mantels.

The kitchen is outfitted with a slew of luxury amenities, including a breakfast nook, Gaggenau appliances, and a three-oven LaCanche range—no surprise here, given that Fischer is a chef. Other features include a wood-paneled bedroom-slash-library that connects to the kitchen, as well as a gym and a custom wine cellar in the basement. The backyard, renovated by architect Michael Van Valkenburg, offers newly added patio space, a play area, and private parking. “We loved what we moved into,” she told the Wall Street Journal in March. “But we’ve definitely made it our own.”

Schumer and Fischer were reportedly planning to move back to Manhattan to be in closer proximity to their son’s school. “We’re too lazy to commute 45 minutes to take our son to school every day,” she told WSJ, adding that the multi-story house was too spacious for their family of three. “This is a home that is just ready for more people.”

The sale of their Brooklyn Heights home coincides with Schumer and Fischer’s decision to end their marriage after seven years. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” Schumer said of the news in a now-deleted Instagram post, according to Page Six. The I Feel Pretty star further weighed in on speculations about her health journey and her husband’s recent autism diagnosis: “Fingers crossed we make it through…whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism.” As for who snagged the Moonstruck town house at a million-dollar discount, The Real Deal reports that the buyer of the home is an LLC tied to Michael Saltzman, a writer and producer with credits in The Boys, Pink Panther, and Murphy Brown.
