Amy Schumer didn’t waste any time ushering in a new era in the city. The actor and comedian has officially returned to Manhattan, having purchased an apartment for $6.25 million, per the New York Post. It seems that Schumer quietly settled into her new abode, as she reportedly bought the property in January 2025 under a trust, closing on the deal roughly three months before she listed her famous Moonstruck townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. That property would eventually sell at a $1.25 million loss amid her split from chef Chris Fischer.
Schumer’s new apartment is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath corner condominium located on the Upper West Side. The dwelling, originally built in 1988 by the late architect Costas Kondylis, features a grand living room equipped with an electric fireplace. The living area is anchored by a cozy nook and large bay windows that boast sweeping views of Central Park, the nearby reservoir, and the Manhattan skyline.
Around the corner is a newly renovated chef’s kitchen outfitted with sleek white marble counters, custom cabinetry, and luxury appliances. The primary suite is tucked away in its own wing with park views and is clad with a walk-in closet and a spa-inspired bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms—both facing the park—that are separated with French doors, and have the flexibility to be configured as a guest room or home office. A dedicated laundry room, Sub-Zero freezer drawers, and a jewel box powder room complete the home’s layout. Other amenities in the boutique building include access to a full-time doorman, concierge services, a gym, and play areas for children.
This isn’t Schumer's first foray in Manhattan. The Kinda Pregnant star previously resided in the same neighborhood, living the Upper West Side in 2016. She offloaded the 12th-story, glass-walled penthouse in 2023, selling it to Oscar-winning composer and lyricist Benj Pasek for $13 million. The news of Schumer’s return to the neighborhood comes a year after she announced her plan to sell her Brooklyn Heights home and come back to Manhattan, explaining that she wanted to be in closer proximity to her six-year-old son’s school. The end of Schumer’s Brooklyn chapter also coincides with the news that she and her husband, Chris Fischer ,were divorcing after seven years of marriage. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” Schumer wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post in December. New beginnings all around!
